Dust Particle Content: Coal Dust
Health Effect: Pneumoconiosis (e.g. coal workers’ pneumoconiosis or ‘black lung’) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) such as bronchitis and emphysema.

Invisible Risk
Airborne particulate pollution is classified as particulate matter (PM):

  • PM10 Particles that are less than 10 microns in diameter

  • PM2.5 Particles that are less than 2.5 microns in diameter

Industrial worksites may have high exposure levels to harmful substances within PM10 and PM2.5 such as fibres, silica dust, coal dust, metals, plastics, VOCs, toxic particles from Diesel Particulate Matter and more.

Particulate smaller than 10 microns (PM10) in size will reach deep into lung tissue as the human body lacks defense mechanisms. (Difficult to expel by exhaling, coughing or by mucus).

Cabin Air Filtration with HEPA Filter
Cabin Pressurizer is mounted outside the cabin. It will clean the air with a HEPA H13 filter and then force it into the cabin through the air conditioning to pressurize the cabin with HEPA filtered air.

Return air filter (RAF) isolates the HVAC system thus air out of the vents delivers a SAFE BREATHING ZONE.

Why HEPA?
HEPA filters capture respirable dust down to 0.3 microns (MPPS) at 99.97% efficiency (HEPA H13).

Effective for silica dust, coal dust, DPM, mould, VOCs, fibrous materials (asbestos), nuisance dust, pollen, wood dust, grain dust and airborne particles specifically in the respirable range 0.3 to 10 micron diameter.

Occupational benchmark going forward:

  • The breathing zone of the operator must be dust free!

  • This is specifically the occupational requirement for silica (respirable) dust.

Breathe Safe EN15695 Category 4 System in Qualifying Cabin:
(Effective cabin sealing and (HEPA) High Efficiency Particulate Air)

Stage 1:
Pre-cleaner - Removes up to 90% of coarse particles from fresh air.

Stage 2:
Pressurizer with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter - Removes fine dust particles and protects the activated carbon media from premature dust loading.

Stage 3:
Impregnated activated carbon (Chemical) filter - Removes gaseous contaminates from air stream. Media is manufactured in blocks (solid core) to cope with vibration.

Stage 4:
Particulate HEPA final filter - Remove any other finer particles that remain from chemical filter.

Stage 5:
HEPA return air filter (Internal filter) - Remove any airborne contaminants from shoes or clothes.
